Type B Anchor Catcher
Text Box: The Type B Anchor Catcher is used to anchor the tubing in tension, holding it stationary during pump strokes. Anchoring prevents tubing buckling, which increases pumping efficiency while reducing rod and tubing wear. It also catches the tubing in the event the tubing parts. When set, there is no slip movement to cause casing damage and the slips are fully enclosed for positive releasing. Stainless steel drag springs are specially designed with a low stress value to minimize the possibility of breaking under corrosive conditions. If the B Anchor Catcher can not be released with normal right hand rotation, emergency shear release can be obtained with an upward pull.
